Deutsche Bahn implements 3D Spark automated solution for Additive Manufacturing costing

Deutsche Bahn has adopted 3D Spark’s AI-driven software to streamline Additive Manufacturing (AM) costing and feasibility analysis. The platform automates tasks such as manufacturability checks, cost estimation, lead time, and CO₂ footprint calculations directly from CAD files, drawings, and metadata. Previously handled through manual spreadsheets, these processes were slow and error-prone. With 3D Spark, Deutsche Bahn achieves ±5% costing accuracy while cutting calculation time by two-thirds. The tool also benchmarks market prices and compares AM technologies for cost-effectiveness and sustainability. This implementation boosts efficiency, reduces repetitive work, and enables data-driven decision-making in AM procurement and production.
